This design is intended to serve as a comfortable, warm, long-term care facility inspired by going back to the patients roots. Materials, patterns, and lighting used in the room take reference from different parts of a tree while also taking stylistic inspiration from a more nostalgic period of the patients' lives.

Roots represent a grounding present that allow the tree to grow and flourish in any environment. After all, where there are roots, growth is possible. This design works to carry this message through to the patient's day to day life by uplifting them and reminding them this can be an exciting new chapter in their life.

A midcentury color and material palette lends itself nicely to the incorporation of natural materials while also creating a familiar atmosphere for the elderly residents. The design serves to be reminiscent of the 1950s and 60s while also keeping the patients connected to the modern world through updated technology.

The space feels comfortable and homey while still being functional for staff and most importantly accessible for patients with mobility limitations.
